Jonah Chegarnov
Web Designer & SEO Specialist · Auburn, WA · Founder of ChegTech

A short version, in my own words.
I'm Jonah. I run ChegTech from Auburn, WA — a one-person web design and SEO agency for local service businesses across Greater Seattle. I started it in June 2025 because I kept watching small businesses get stuck with the same two bad options: a stale template site nobody can update, or a $15,000 agency bill they can't afford and don't need.
I finished my B.S. in Computer Science at Bellevue College in 2025. Before ChegTech, I wrote software for Pierce County's Financial Department — specifically the Medical Examiner Applications used by the county. I also worked with bitlearns.com, a Brazil-based AI-assisted lecture creation tool for teachers, where I helped build out their analytical dashboard during a 9-month capstone project. Both projects taught me that real software isn't the impressive demo — it's the boring infrastructure that has to work every single day for someone who doesn't care about your tech stack.
I've built or rebuilt 7+ websites so far. Pinnacle Air Control, an HVAC company in South Hill, went from an average Google rank around 70 to 9 in four months after I rebuilt their site. IGo Green Enterprises, a glass installation business in Seattle, landed a $20,000 job within weeks of launch after I rebuilt their dated website. Velare Remodeling and Restoration, a Bonney Lake general contractor, went from invisible to booked inside two months including build-to-launch time.
Every project is end-to-end. I do the design. I write the code. I set up the SEO and the Google Business Profile. I handle the ongoing maintenance. There are no subcontractors and no account managers — when something breaks at 8pm on a Saturday, you text me. That's why I can charge $2,000 for a custom site instead of $15,000. It's not a discount. It's the actual cost of the work when there's no agency overhead in the middle.
I built ChegTech for the local service businesses already winning on the ground — the contractors, the trades, the auto dealers, the restaurants, the real estate agents — who deserve a website that matches the quality of their actual work. That's the only mission.

What I build with.
Modern, server-rendered, fast. The same stack I use on this site is the same stack I use on yours — that's on purpose.
The default for local-business sites is WordPress with a page builder (Elementor, Divi). It works, but the builder layer bloats JavaScript and tanks mobile speed — typical WordPress sites score 40–60 on Lighthouse. The custom sites I build — Next.js, Astro, or hand-rolled HTML depending on the project — score 90+, and that speed gap compounds into rankings and conversions. For content edits, I pair the build with Sveltia, a git-based CMS that edits plain files in the repo — no WordPress admin, no plugin chain, no database to patch.
- Next.jsReact framework, server-rendered
- AstroContent-first static sites
- TypeScriptType-safe JavaScript
- JavaScriptThe web's runtime
- HTMLSemantic markup
- CSSHand-rolled when needed

People I'd send you to.
I'm one person — there's only so much work I can take, and geography matters. When a project lands outside my service area, I'd rather refer you to someone real than have you start over on Google.
The team at Messenger Digital Group is based in Tulsa, OK, and they cover the eastern side of the country — East Coast, Midwest, and the Central US. They run the same operational model I do — one developer doing the build, the SEO, the content, the ongoing work — with the same focus on contractors and home service businesses. If your business is east of the Rockies, they're the referral I'd make.
No sales team. No account manager.
Just me.
Tell me about your business and what you're trying to fix. I'll respond within one business day.
